Term 1, Week 3

Our Marae Trip.
On Wednesday 14th February we went to the Kaikorai Valley marae with Rooms 8 and 11. We learnt and experienced a range of marae protocol such as taking off our shoes before entering the wharenui. We listened respectfully during the powhiri and mihis and participated in giving a hongi. There were a range of activities that we enjoyed such as weaving flax, stick games, story telling and musical instruments. It was an awesome day out.
